Lapbook for speech development: interactive manuals for younger and older preschoolers

In modern preschool education, speech development is considered as one of the foundations of raising and educating children. After all, future successful studies at school, general intellectual development, and the ability to communicate with people depend on this. Today, educators are increasingly giving preference to practical teaching methods, because when a child interacts with objects himself, he understands the world around him better. Therefore, the teacher should make an interactive guide - a lapbook on speech development.

  • For what age is a “speech” lapbook suitable?

You can offer children a lapbook on speech development at an early preschool age. Only in the junior and middle groups does the teacher himself draw the children’s attention to the manual and work with them using it.

At a young age, the teacher himself captivates children with a laptop, arouses interest in it

Older preschoolers can work with the interactive folder on their own. It should always be within the reach of children and supplemented with interesting material.

In the senior and preparatory groups, children can study independently with the manual

This manual is intended for children of senior preschool age (5-7 years old) who have general speech underdevelopment and are studying in a compensatory group, and can also be used to systematize the knowledge and speech development of children in general developmental groups. Can be used both in individual work and in work with a small subgroup of children. Some sections of the lapbook: “Fun Gymnastics”, “Fun Football” and “Talking Tracks” can be used in working with children from 3 years of age.

    Lapbook “Developing Speech”

is a functional, interactive clamshell folder that includes various game tasks and games in pockets, various “flip books”, “accordion books”, etc. and is an indispensable assistant to the speech therapist in his work.

    Lapbook sections:

    1. “Fun gymnastics”

By independently choosing the picture cards he likes, the child learns to perform articulation exercises in a playful way, and the mirror allows visual control of the correct functioning of the articulation organs. The child also performs facial gymnastics together with a cheerful little man.

    2. “Fun Football” “

It’s fun to play football—to kick a goal into the goal.” This is an exciting game that children will never get tired of, no matter how many times they play it. Simple, but very effective and interesting. Allows the child to form the correct speech exhalation, which is necessary for correct sound pronunciation. For each goal, the child receives a chip - a reward.

    3. “One is many”

The game allows you to teach children to correctly form singular and plural nouns in the nominative and genitive case.

    4

    .
    "Big small".
With the help of the game, children develop the ability to form diminutive forms of nouns.

    6

    .
    "Talking Tracks"
The game contains moving elements (car, beetle, snake). The child, moving objects along the paths, simultaneously depicts in his voice how “a beetle buzzes: zh-zh-zh”, how “a snake hisses: sh-sh-sh”, how “a car hums: dr-r-r-r” and moves along paths to the final goal. During the game, the pronunciation of individual sounds is practiced, as well as correct speech breathing.

    7.
    “Collect a picture”
    and
    “Come up with a story”
The child can independently put together a cut picture and try to come up with a story based on the plot picture

    8. “Which one?”

This game task expands the child’s active vocabulary of characteristics and updates the passive vocabulary. The game develops in children the ability to select attributes for an object, based on its various characteristics (taste, color, shape, size, etc.). Colored cards with images of various objects are fastened in the form of an accordion. The child independently chooses the picture he likes and tries to describe it and answer the question (Which one?)

    9. Game carousel “How much?”

The game teaches children to correctly coordinate numerals with nouns, and also allows them to consolidate their counting skills. Using a rotating improvised dial, children independently find pairs of objects and name them correctly. All parts are movable and removable.

    10. “What does it do?”

This game allows you to clarify and expand your child’s verbal vocabulary. At an older age, children can independently read the cards and match them with the necessary pictures. Cards can be used in different ways, depending on the goals set by the speech therapist teacher.

    11. “What is this made of?”

The game exercise allows you to develop the ability to form relative adjectives and use them in active speech.

This laptop has become indispensable in my work. It creates excellent motivation for children to study and allows the speech therapist to solve many correctional problems at once. At the same time, there is no need to use many different aids, which are not always possible to keep at hand. The “Developing Speech” laptop is a wonderful assistant in my work.

How to use a lapbook when working with preschoolers

Of course, a lapbook is not just a beautiful craft for decorating a group. This is an invaluable teaching material for speech development. The following areas of its use can be distinguished:

    1. Lapbook for children. This is a colorful interactive folder that holds secrets. Preschoolers want to look at it and study it again and again in their free time. Unbeknownst to the children themselves, the manual encourages them to develop speech and communicate with peers and adults.
    2. Lapbook for teachers. This manual allows you to organize a lesson on speech development and provides ready-made material for exercises.
    3. Lapbook for parents. This is an opportunity to show your creative abilities, spend fun and useful time with your child, organize active communication, and an opportunity to discover the baby’s potential.

Speech development in kindergarten is carried out in a variety of activities and in different forms. A modern approach to organizing this work, in particular the use of a laptop, will make it possible to interest children, systematize their knowledge, and turn learning into an exciting process. It is quite possible to study with such benefits at home.
